Michael Mor Dionysius Dayro at Adoor was established by the former Metropolitan of southern dioceses Mor Kurillos Kuriakose Poothicote.  It is located adjacent to the St. Ignatius Jacobite Syrian church.  The Dayro which has been built as the headquarters of the three southern dioceses of Niranam, Kollam and Thumpamon, was a long cherished dream of late Mor Kurillos Thirumeni.  But just before its consecration, His Grace passed away on 21 March 1995 and was entombed at the Dayro chapel. The Dayro was consecrated the next year by  Mor Gregorios Geevarghese Perumpilly.  Since its founding, the Dayro functioned as the headquarters of Niranam, Kollam and Thumpamon dioceses. After the ordination of Metropolitans for each of these dioceses in July 2006, the HQ's of Niranam and Thumpamon dioceses are in the process of being shifting to Thiruvalla and Pathanamthitta respectively while Michael Mor Dionysius Dayro will continue to be the headquarters of Kollam diocese. H.G. Mor Thevodosius Mathews, the assistant Metropolitan of Kollam diocese now resides here.
