The Bethel Suloko Church at Perumbavur, established on 31st July 1903, is one of the prominent parishes of the Malankara Syrian Christians. The church is blessed with the sacred relic of MOR KAUMO which was installed by St. Osthatheos Sleeba, the patriarchal delegate to Malankara, on 6th February 1923. (Mor Kaumo lived in Lebanon in the 5th century. 'Kaumo' in Syriac means "remain standing". The saint, according to legend remained standing for 45 years in meditation.)
It was in 1997 the present edifice of the church was constructed. The renovated Church was consecrated by the diocesan Metropolitan H.G. Thomas Mor Divanasios (Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I) on February 6, 1997. The altars in the church are dedicated to St. Thomas, St. Mary, St.George, St. Ignatius Elias III and St. Gregorios of Parumala.
The main festivals celebrated in the church are on 6 February, 7 May and 6 October. Various spiritual organizations like Sunday School, Youth Association, Martha Mariam Samajam and Antiochean Faith Protection Movement are functioning in the parish. There are four shrines under this church located in the four corners of the Perumbavur town; dedicated to St.Peter & St.Paul, Mor Geevarghese Sahdo (St. George), Mor Kaumo and Patriarch Mor Elias III.
